Cream Premiere: Quichenight, Room Temperature [Fresh Tracks]

A few short weeks ago, we brought you

a little sample

of the latest from Quichenight: a premiere of "Right to be Confused," the opening track from Room Temperature, which comes out this Saturday along with a bunch of other great local, national and international releases for Cassette Store Day. We'll have more in the upcoming dead-tree edition on the local releases and happenings all across town, but in the meantime, feast your ears on Room Temperature in its entirety, courtesy of Quichestermind Brett Rosenberg and his own Lamb Speed Records imprint.

As with previous Quichenight releases, much of the album was performed and recorded by Rosenberg and mixed/mastered by Battle Tapes' Jeremy Ferguson, but the track "Tommy Tune" was recorded and mixed by Travis Atkinson at his studio, Strangebird; listen for bassist Dan Carroll and Fox Fun guitarist Asher Horton, who are also part of the latest live incarnation of the group, on the instrumental "Quichebeat 2014." It's a collection of wry and ingenious pop tunes that investigates domesticity, not taking your status as a creative person too seriously and even a little young hippie love. Getcha a slice after the jump.
