Don't get me wrong: I love the spring weather, but I'm well and truly ready to embrace
summer jam seasonwith open arms. Today, we have the pleasure of premiering "Leather," a track from the forthcoming self-titled EP by Broken Bats, a brand new band led by former Pink Spiders frontman Matt "Friction" Bell that also features Future Unlimited drummer Gabe Pigg, Tony Smith from Bowling Green rockers Sleeper Agent and Denver Dalley from the Conor Oberst-led punk outfit Desaparecidos. "Leather" is a grooving number with big-harmony hooks and snarly guitars. Recorded at The Bomb Shelter studio in East Nashville, the four-pack o' tracks was recorded is exactly the crunchy, riffy good time you'd expect from these four dudes.
The EP hits digital outlets on tomorrow, and you've got a couple chances to see the band in the flesh this month: First is May 14, opening up Mercy Lounge for FIDLAR and Metz; the show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $15. They're also part of Mayday 2015, the Memorial Day weekend blowout at The Beast.
