Since the dawn of time, music dweebs have engaged each other in verbal slapfights over which is better: Beatles or Stones? The Smiths or The Cure? Creed or getting hit by a car? All valid arguments, sure, but the current reigning king of these dorkus debates is the storied (and mostly made-up) rivalry of Prince and Michael Jackson.
At this week’s 8 Off 8th, local bands pick a side and pay tribute to the King of Pop and the Prince of Unpronounceable Symbols to settle this once and for all. Or at least until the next Prince vs. Michael Jackson DJ night.
The free show features performances by Alanna Royale, Kink Ador, Trinity Schill Kill, The Future, Sik Wit and more. Get there early and corner someone in the billiards room with your opinions on Morris Day vs. Tito Jackson.
As always, 8 off 8th is free and kicks off at 9 p.m. (weather permitting).
