* D'awwww. Damn car commercial tugging at my heartstrings. As you can see above — or as you may have already noticed if you frequently flip around the tube —
By Lightning!'s tune "Future History" was recently featured in an especially sentimental Subaru spot. Put in time at a co-op with your adorable daughter? Sounds like you need a Subaru. Congrats to the BL! gang. You can stream the song at
this linkor after the jump, where I've also pasted the lyrics. You know, for the Googles.
* Hey! Wild Cub's debut full-length Youth officially hits the streets today. You may have read my review in last week's paper. No? That's cool, no big deal. But here's the link again. Anyhow, the Cub also has a brand-new video for their tune "Jonti," and it debuted over there at IFC. The video features a lot of punchy, nostalgic shots from laid-back locales — kind of a postcard theme, it seems. You can see that after the jump as well.
* And finally, folksy local neo-trad songster Rayland Baxter debuted a video for his tune "The Mtn. Song" over at Baeble. Like his recent video for "Driveway Melody," "The Mtn. Song" features a lot of footage from Baxter's recent trip out West in his 1969 Plymouth Valiant. Unless I'm just Doing-It-Wrong-Dot-Com, it doesn't appear as though the video is embeddable, so you'll have to watch it at Baeble's site. Baxter's Feathers and Fishhooks will be out Aug. 28 via ATO.
