Bonnaroo Announces Daily Lineups; CMA Fest Announces First-Night Nissan Stadium Lineup

With SXSW overtaking Austin, Tex., next week, festival season is upon us. That involves some serious planning, y'all. Are you the type of festivalgoer who can't handle four full days of the high temperatures, hot tones and myriad other harrowing elements of #BonnarooLife? Though the 'Roo doesn't do the whole single-day pass thing (or if you're just curious), the wait to see if Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday is your day of choice when hippies, hipsters and other millennials descend on nearby Manchester, Tenn., June 9-12 is over.

The festival just posted its daily lineups, which sees LCD Soundsystem headlining Friday night's What Stage happenings, with Pearl Jam following on Saturday and Dead & Company wrapping things up on Sunday.

Between Twin Peaks, BØRNS, Bully, Waxahatchee and other indie notables (not to mention more manageable crowds) serving as worthy incentives to show up early, main-stage-free Thursday looks pretty tight. Between the likes of J. Cole, Tame Impala, M83, CHVRCHES, Tyler the Creator and FIDLAR, Friday offers the most frenetic lineup of the four days. Meanwhile, eclectic-AF Saturday is the ticket for metal heads, dad-rock dads and fans of cool-kid-approved country acts, featuring everyone from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Haim, to Lamb of God and Clutch and Anderson East to Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton. Harkening back to years gone by, Sunday gives old-school Bonnaroovians cause to stay for the duration, offering up heady options the likes of Ween, Father John Misty, Jason Isbell and Kurt Vile. Actual set times and stage schedules are still to come.

And speaking of country music, CMA Fest, which — surely to the lament of many Music City industry types (and some music fans) — will once again transpire on the same long weekend as Bonnaroo, announced a decent portion of its daily lineups this week. That includes the Thursday, June 9 night one lineup at Nissan Stadium, which will (mildly notably) see iPod-jamming Elrocks Rascal Flatts and noted blackface-sporter Jason Aldean sharing the bill with bona-fide Bonnaroo vets Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley.  So, which Bonnaroo daily lineup do you think looks the sickest?
