Billy Joe Shaver, Punch Brothers, Brandi Carlile and John Hiatt top the list of performers slated to appear at the 2012 Americana Music Festival and Conference, which will overtake various Nashville venues Sept. 12-15 and feature more than 100 artists. Also among them are Sara Watkins, The Deep Dark Woods, Shovels and Rope, Eilen Jewell, Rodney Crowell, The BoDeans, Robert Ellis, The Wood Brothers, The McCrary Sisters and, of course, Buddy Miller. The festival’s main event, the 11th Annual Americana Honors and Awards ceremony at the Ryman, will honor Bonnie Raitt, Booker T. Jones, Richard Thompson and others. Raitt will also deliver a keynote interview at the AMA kickoff event. Last year the festival attracted more than 12,000 patrons. Conference and festival badges range in price from $350-$450, depending on whether or not you’re an AMA member, while general admission wristbands are $50.
