The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp No. 28 puts on the Mount Olivet Cemetery tour every year, so it’s not surprising that it’s usually a tour of the graves of Confederates. If you’re a Civil War buff, this has always been a can’t-miss event. But even if you’re not, this year it’s worth checking out. The SCV is branching out and including other famous Tennesseans, including whiskey wholesaler (and perhaps Civil War-era whiskey smuggler) George Dickel and suffragist Anne Dallas Dudley. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who knows Mount Olivet as well as the SCV does, so it’s really great news for Nashville history buffs that the tour is making use of that knowledge. So many important historical figures are in Mount Olivet, but if you don’t know where to look for them, they can be nearly impossible to find. Pro tip: Wear sneakers, because not all paths are paved, and the tour brings you right up close to the graves. Also, the ground can be uneven, so if you’re not sure-footed, you might also want to bring a loved one to hold onto. And to hide behind when it gets too creepy. 3-7 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1101 Lebanon Pike BETSY PHILLIPS
