Mashville feat. KDSML, Wick-it the Instigator, Orig, Mike Vulcan & Bateman

If, like Charlie Brown, you’ve been waiting for something to cut through the malaise and hook you up with some seasonal cheer, the annual Yuletide convening of the Mashville crew is here to save the day. For the new Nashvillians in the audience, a hearty welcome and a little primer: Mashville was a monthly dance party that was key in helping boost and grow Music City’s dance-music and hip-hop community in the late Aughts and early 2010s, and its primary participants are some of the top talents in the businesses of beat craftin’ and booty movin’. The party became far less frequent as the years went on, partly because folks like KDSML and Wick-it have been super busy with other endeavors. (Couple of recent news items: Wick-it’s Fireside Music EP is perfect for the dance floor or for kicking back with a little brown water, and you can hear KDSML at work on the opening track from rapper Jelly Roll’s new LP Goodnight Nashville.) Lace up your flyest of kicks and mosey on down to see what it’s all about. STEPHEN TRAGESER
