Built from 125-year-old hardwood, the Ryman Auditorium is as much an instrument as a venue on its best days — it just takes a high-flying vocalist like Martina McBride to play it properly. On Saturday, the country icon will fill the hallowed hall with megahits like “A Broken Wing” and “Independence Day.” McBride is on the second leg of her Love Unleashed Tour, which despite its name, is not an ’80s hair-metal reunion tour, although McBride could certainly hang on such a bill with her supersonic vocal range and piles of platinum albums. The Ryman show is part of this year’s CMT Next Women of Country Tour, and along with a supportive pre-Valentine Day space for the brokenhearted, McBride promises a mix of radio hits and deep-cut favorites, songs from her latest album Reckless and a few vocally endowed covers.
