Autumn is officially over. A long winter’s hibernation with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and Lifetime Movie Channel (don’t judge me) sounds like the perfect post-holiday retreat. But don’t settle into your cave before Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary’s annual Marshmallow Hike. For just a few hours on select December and January afternoons, Owl’s Hill guides guests through the park’s 300 acres, where more than 2,000 species of native plants and animals have made their home. The woods are especially peaceful during the winter, too — no bugs, no humidity. But that’s not even the best part of these Marshmallow Hikes. At the end of the trip, everyone is invited to roast ’mallows and sip hot chocolate (also loaded with ’mallows) by a fire. What a dreamy way to spend a winter’s day. Last year several of the hikes sold out, so reserve a spot in advance at owlshill.org. Dec. 27-29 & Jan. 2-4 at Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary, 545 Beech Creek Road S. MEGAN SELING
