Mandy Barnett

Mandy Barnett has long been known as one of our foremost interpreters of song, a role she first stepped into in the mid-’90s when she played Patsy Cline in the musical Always... Patsy Cline. She’s reminded us of her vocal prowess and knack for interpretation many times since, including in September when she released her latest album, Strange Conversation, which features covers of songs by Tom Waits and Sonny & Cher, among others. Barnett will bring her songbook to 3rd and Lindsley this week. Look for tunes from the new album — which, with its emphasis on roots and Americana, is a bit of a sonic departure for Barnett — and expect her to have a couple left-field choices up her sleeve, too.
