In 2012, Trampled by Turtles played Public Square Park downtown for Live on the Green, and it was hard to believe at the time that the free concert series could get any more enticing than it already was, as the bluegrassers lit into a set full of selections from their freshly released Stars and Satellites. Well, the energetic Minnesota indie-folk crew is back, and this time around, the undercard is stacked: Openers will include local soul and R&B troupe Alanna Royale, world-class political punks Parquet Courts and alt-rockers Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Trampled by Turtles is touring behind this year’s Life Is Good on the Open Road — a relaxing mix of tunes perfect for a late-August evening. That is, if you can chill out when you’re asses to elbows with thousands of other folks. 5:30 p.m. at Public Square Park, 1 Public Square AMANDA HAGGARD
