If you’ve never had the chance to see Jeremy Ivey — who often plays and tours with his wife Margo Price, and who played alongside Price for many years in the outfit Buffalo Clover — perform solo, get thee to The Basement, where Ivey will play with his band the Extraterrestrials. On Twitter, Ivey promises “special guests and new songs” at the show, and we can hope he throws in a Buffalo Clover song or two while he’s at it. Country-rock locals Teddy and the Rough Riders will open — the quartet incorporates vintage genre hallmarks without all the bullshit (like hokey lyrics or claims of being “an outlaw”) that too often comes along with such music these days.
