Small theater companies are dominating the Nashville drama scene, with opportunities to check out a wide range of work popping up frequently. Beginning this weekend, Pipeline Collective will present its production of The World Over by playwright Keith Bunin — who’s not afraid to get weird with this one, first published in 2003. The play features a castaway who believes himself to be the lost prince of the fabled country of Gildoray — despite the fact that no one else has ever heard of such a place. But he perseveres, searching for home. More than 30 roles will be played by seven actors, including DeYonte Jenkins, who was excellent in Actors Bridge’s production of Citizen in March, and Meggan Utech, who was spectacular at this year’s Ingram New Works Festival in readings of The Messengers and Crying on Television. Pre-game with a choose-your-own-adventure YouTube game made especially for the production at pipeline-collective.com. July 19-27 at Belmont’s Black Box Theatre, 1575 Compton Ave. ERICA CICCARONE
