Whaaat? Make fun of G.I. Joe? Why, you might as well take a dump on Old Glory! Or you might as well be experimental filmmaker Eric Fensler of Fensler Films, whose “public service announcement” reworkings of G.I. Joe cartoons have become an underground sensation. In Fensler’s hands, just a little redubbing and digital retooling brings out startling subtexts in the Real American Hero’s “humanitarian aid” missions. Watch as Joe and his gung-ho comrades teach kids valuable lessons in fire prevention, racial tolerance and proper enunciation, while Fensler turns their most earnest messages into preteen Dada. The language and general weirdness make this off-limits for kids, but adults should enlist immediately. Start with PSA07:
