I like shopping at The Turnip Truck but often can’t afford the prices that organic groceries command. That’s one reason I love Madison Inglewood Market on Gallatin Avenue a couple blocks south of Briley Parkway. They have a wide assortment of fresh produce, meat, poultry and staples, all at very affordable prices. The other reason I love it: the large selection of Mexican and Central American goods. Whether you’re looking for milk, eggs, bread and potatoes or goat meat, tomatillos, nopales and frozen tamales, you’ll find it here. My current fave: Delicia horchata concentrate, $4.59 for a bottle that makes two gallons.
