A mischievous friend has a little game she plays at the supermarket — she says to an employee, "I can't seem to find the pine nuts." Then she gets ready for some exercise as the employee darts down the imported food aisle, dashes to specialty and shrugs his shoulders in the nuts aisle.
Hearing the story, another friend confessed her frustrating searches for the non-canned sauerkraut. Refrigerated specialty produce, like where the tofu sometimes lives? Near the sausage, the natural partner of sauerkraut? In the deli, with other sandwich-y items?
I admit chiming in: Depending on the grocery store, you can either walk straight to the bagel chips or miss major life events while you hunt for them.
