The Acorn restaurant recently launched a weekly tasting menu with three courses for $35. This week, in honor of all the Ignatius J. Reilly-and-beignet-related hoopla surrounding Mardi Gras, chef Andy Hunter is preparing New Orleans-style food.

A former resident of New Orleans, Hunter is exorcising his homesickness with a menu that includes the following choices:

Shrimp remoulade or fried oyster po'boy

Smothered quail stuffed with house-made boudin sausage over dirty rice or grillades and grits with wilted greens

Banana-stuffed profiterole with bananas Foster sauce or traditional beignets with hot fudge sauce

Located at 114 28th Ave. N. (phone: 320-4399), The Acorn serves dinner Monday through Saturday.
