Yazoo Offers Beer in Cans for the First Time
Yazoo Offers Beer in Cans for the First Time

Nashville-based Yazoo Brewing Co. is now offering flagship beers Dos Perros and Pale Ale in 12-ounce aluminum cans, the first time the 15-year-old company has provided packaged product not in bottles.

The beers currently are available in 12-pack cases at the Yazoo taproom, located at 910 Division St., and will soon be available in retail stores.

Led by founder and co-owner Linus Hall, Yazoo currently bottles (either year-round or seasonally) nine beers and is prepping to relocate from the Gulch to Madison.

"We're excited to be moving soon to our new location in Madison, where we will finally have the space to install a new canning line to offer our beer in cans as well as bottles  —  so excited, in fact, that we couldn't wait," Hall tells Scene sister publication Nashville Post.

Hall says he has enlisted Iron Heart Canning for the initial effort.

"They will bring in their mobile canning line to get our first few runs of Pale Ale and Dos Perros out, just in time for spring and pool weather," he says. "Look for 12-packs of Pale Ale and Dos Perros around Nashville, starting next week."

Depending upon how one counts the city’s breweries, Davidson County is home to 18 such facilities. Only two — Yazoo and Blackstone — bottle in six-packs, with the bulk of the others offering their ales and lagers in cans.
