Of all the issues facing the hospitality industry, one of the most major ones is how to help women in the biz achieve the levels of success that they deserve in the face of institutional obstacles. The annual FAB conference in Charleston, S.C., seeks to address these issues by bringing together successful women in food and bev (FAB, get it?) and offering the opportunity for industry workers to network with and learn from these excellent examples of achievement. Conference organizer Randi Weinstein is a big fan of Nashville and a frequent visitor to town to help support women’s initiatives in our local hospitality scene.
This year’s edition of FAB will take place in Charleston on June 14-16 and offers a jam-packed schedule of educational panels, special events, smaller sessions, deep dive lunch groups, health and wellness opportunities and more to help jumpstart the careers of women who might be on the earlier part of their personal career arcs.
Among the presenters will be notable Nashville chefs Maneet Chauhan and Sarah Gavigan, and some of the topics that will be addressed include:

- The Making of a Leader
- Inclusivity and Accessibility in the Industry

Tickets are now officially on sale at the FAB website, and they also offer scholarship opportunities to assist potential attendees with the price of admission and lodging. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 13, so if you’re interested in receiving some assistance, get to typing!
