Some of you might remember chef Kirstie Harris from her stint leading the kitchen at The Old School Nashville and her appearance as a competitor at the Scene’s Iron Fork competition. She has recently been working along with sustainability expert Lesley Lammers at The Humble Table, the events company that Lammers founded as a casual supper club that she hosted. This new dream team has joined up with the talented distillers at Nelson’s Green Brier for a festive evening of holiday spirits tasting this Thursday, Dec. 19, beginning at 6 p.m. at the distillery's taproom at 1414 Clinton St.
The folks at Nelson's Green Brier have expanded their portfolio of fine whiskeys over the years to the point where they can offer a tasting of six different spirits, which The Humble Table will pair with delicious bites. The evening will begin with a signature cocktail created by the mixologists at Nelson’s Green Brier, followed by a special tour of the distillery. You’ll learn the history of the business stretching back to the late 19th century and then tour the production floor and barrel-aging room.
After the tour, guests will retire to the distillery’s tasting room to enjoy the spirits and food pairings, followed by a trip to the hot coffee bar with extra octane provided by the distillery’s delightful Miss Louisa’s Liqueur. Tickets for the evening of festivities are $50 and are available at the event’s Facebook page. Here’s the menu to whet your appetite:
