Porter Road and Puckett’s Improve Your Food Options at Nissan Stadium

Piggy Mac!

Now that the Titans have officially kicked off the 2018 NFL season, it won’t be long until they return to the friendly confines of Nissan Stadium for their home opener. (I don’t count preseason games, and nobody else should either. What a ripoff!) As part of their efforts to improve the concessions options for fans, stadium management has struck new deals with two favorite local food providers — Porter Road Butcher and Puckett’s.

A quick caveat: You won’t be able to enjoy those slider burgers made with grass-fed, hormone-free and antibiotic-free Porter Road beef in the cheap seats, as they’ll only be available in the suites and on the Club level of Nissan Stadium. But hopefully this relationship will expand for coming seasons, and the rest of us will be able to take advantage in this major upgrade in the Titans’ burger game. Or maybe somebody could invite their favorite food writer up to the high-cotton seats for a game or two?

But the new Puckett’s offering is more ecumenical, as they’ll be parking their food trolley in the North end zone plaza of Nissan Stadium for home football games and in the South end zone for concerts and other events. (Well, not in the end zone. That would be dangerous.) This development represents the fifth partnership of the like between Puckett’s and area sports teams, along with the Preds at Bridgestone Arena, Vanderbilt Stadium, Floyd Stadium at Middle Tennessee State University and Finley Stadium at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, who all offer Puckett’s food as part of their concessions programs.

Puckett’s will be vending a variety of the restaurant’s popular dishes, most featuring their excellent slow-smoked pulled pork or beef brisket. Guests can order meat on a sandwich with chips, or opt for brisket nachos with all the fixings. They’ll also offer their decadent Piggy Mac, a smoked gouda mac and cheese topped with pulled pork as well as a smoked “hillbilly hotdog” with chips. The food truck plans to add even more seasonal items later in the season it gets chillier.

The Titans have shown steady improvement on the field and in their concessions over the past few seasons, so here’s hoping that trend continues!
