pH Craft Cocktails Set to Open This Month in Wedgewood-Houston

Specialty-cocktail-focused restaurant pH Craft Cocktails is slated to open Friday, July 19, in Wedgewood-Houston.

Marcus Capehart, pH Craft owner, says the cocktail bar and restaurant will be located at 1249 Martin St. in a retail space owned by Bongo Java Productions founder Bob Bernstein.

The space is located within mixed-use building Six10 Merritt at The Finery (pictured). In general, The Finery is a multi-phase, multi-building project undertaken by Nashville-based Core Development. Six10 sits adjacent to the structure home to Diskin Cider.

pH Craft will be Capehart's first physical restaurant (he has undertaken pop-ups in the past) and will offer small plates in an interior space that can accommodate about 75 patrons. An outdoor space will be able to host about 20.

Capehart — who lives in Wedgewood-Houston — says he plans to have about 20 employees (both full- and part-time), with Colt Winters to serve as general manager. He will source some food and beverage items locally or regionally.

Capehart said pH Craft will offer “specialty, handcrafted cocktails and elevated bar food featuring seasonal and local fare.” It also will offer a small selection of red, white and rose wines and four local beers on tap.

“Our signature drink is a gin cocktail called the Good Neighbor, featuring a gin from our neighbors at Corsair ,” he said.

pH Craft will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to midnight; Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bar will stay open Sunday until midnight.

pH Craft won't be the only new spot to grab a drink in Wedgewood-Houston this summer. Just opened last month across from Bastion is Never Never — read more about that in this week's forthcoming issue of the Scene.
