Noble's Kitchen and Beer Hall, described by its owners as a “beer hall for all,” recently opened at 974 Main St. near Five Points in East Nashville. The project has been in the works for a couple years.
In 2015, two local attorneys purchased the property and set about breaking into the restaurant business. Jim Higgins and his law partner Rick Piliponis enlisted the help of veteran Nashville restaurateur Doug Crow (Crow's Nest, Winners, Losers) along with general manager Nick Gajewski and chef Kelly Weatherford to create Noble's.
Before it was redeveloped by the current owners, the site was part of the Hunter’s Automotive property. (Another part of the former Hunter’s complex, at 975 Main St., is being renovated by Fresh Hospitality to become Hunters Station, with multiple restaurants, along with a large commercial kitchen for food entrepreneurs on the lower level.)
Noble’s opened a couple weeks ago, the culmination of the team’s plan to create a large space focusing on reasonably priced, pub-style food complemented by an extensive drink menu.
That menu features 60 craft beers on tap as well as additional selections of bottled beers, specialty cocktails, and wines. Many of the draft beers are from local and regional breweries and most are available as flights, pints, and even 22-ounce mugs.
The food menu has a number of shareable plates, salads, and sandwiches (including sliders and steamed sandwiches). Meat-and-two or -three plate lunch specials are available until 4 p.m. and there's also a brunch menu.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m. daily and is "family-friendly" until 10 p.m. (ages 21+ only after that time). Televisions dot the interior to feature sporting events. Each night features a different activity, including trivia and live music. The "happy hour" is 2 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and features half-price drafts, $4 well drinks, and $1 discounts on bottled beer and wine.
