I never cease to be amazed at the level of participation when it comes to the Scene events department's special food weeks. Of all of them, I think Burger Week has to be the most intense for participating tasters and restaurants.
Taco Week? Tacos reheat really well, so you can divide and conquer by sending a group of friends to order from a buncha places and reconvene to try multiple offerings at a time. Pizza Week? Just keep the air fryer warm and you can crisp up slices anytime. Hot Chicken Week? Now that can be a challenge, but most chicken sandwiches or fried tender plates can handle a quick nuke to get to a palatable temp.
But a burger? Man, burgers are best enjoyed in situ. If you are aiming to sample every burger available during the Nashville Scene's Burger Week from July 6 through 12, you’ve got your work cut out for you: There more than 60 restaurants, bars and food trucks signed up to show off their best burger. (Our events department tells us this is the biggest number of participants yet.) The divide-and-conquer approach doesn’t work as well either, so your squad might be better off traveling as a pack if you want to experience as many as you can. Uber Eats is also a great way to maximize your efficiency and leave the driving to them.

So here’s the standard deal: Participating restaurants are offering special $8 burger deals all around town while they compete for your votes to choose the best burger. It’s always helpful to download the event app in advance to help map out your plan of attack as well as to share photos of your favorites — and the even better news is that the Scene has now combined all four of our major food weeks into one app!
As always, we request your patience as lines can get long at some of the participating establishments, and they may temporarily run out of their special for the day. Please think about purchasing a drink and/or a side dish to reward the restaurants — and tip generously.
Taco Bamba Double Smashburger
The week kicks off with a Happy Hour at Sully’s Smoke Shack in Skinny Dennis from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on July 6. They’ll be serving $8 burgers, with happy hour pricing and live music to help get everyone in the proper headspace to tackle this delicious Herculean task — and anyone with the app will get an additional 100 points for attending.
With so many participants, you might have to make some hard choices, so be sure to review the long list of burgers before you head out on your hunt for perfection. I think I might have to wear an apron all week, because there are some ooey-gooey masterpieces on offer.
