Murfreesboro to Host Thai-Lao Food Fair

In our recent anonymous chef survey, one chef bemoaned Nashville’s paucity of “THAI FOOD. REAL THAI FOOD!” (all-caps his or hers, in the interest of anonymity) Perhaps this chef needs to mark the calendar for this Saturday, April 29, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., when the Wat Amphawan Buddhist temple hosts the Thai-Lao Food Fair. The temple is at 4880 Barfield Crescent Road in Murfreesboro, where they will feature more than 35 Lao/Thai/American dishes. One $15 admission entitles visitors to sample as many or as much as they choose, and kids 10 and younger eat free.

Thai performing arts presentations will be featured throughout the festival, and there will also be a demonstration of muay Thai, a martial art native to Thailand that features full-contact fighting. They will also be holding a raffle to raise money for the temple improvement fund, with $50 tickets available for the chance to win a new 2017 Nissan Altima.

You can buy your tickets at the front gate, and the event is cash-only. Come hungry!
