Hoss’ Loaded Burgers Issues a Competitive Eating Challenge

Hoss’ Loaded Burgers earned a reputation as one of Nashville’s favorite food trucks with its menu of stuffed burgers and savory fries, and it’s still a popular mobile destination for burger lovers. They have parlayed that success into a beef-and-mortar location in Nolensville at 515 Burkitt Commons Ave., where they serve an expanded menu of specialty burgers made using local humanely raised beef along with veggie burgers, chicken tenders and salads.

If you haven’t made the trip down Nolensville Road to visit them yet, here’s a gluttonous incentive to point your mouth to the south. In what they are calling the “Jaw Dropper Challenge,” they have put together a gastronomic feat worthy of Adam Richman of television’s Man vs. Food back in the days before his liver basically turned into pâté, and he had to transition into a coaching role watching other danged fools eat the way he used to.

Hoss’ Jaw Dropper is a monster of a burger, three one-third-pound patties topped with smoked cheddar, Benton's bacon, spicy mayo and jalapeños, and it would be enough of a challenge just by itself. But to win a spot on Hoss’ roster of champions plus a free hat and T-shirt, competitors must finish this massive burger plus a milkshake and order of loaded queso fries in less than 20 minutes. Hoss' will be keeping track of all the winners for the month of January, and the person with the quickest time will receive a $50 gift card and a pamphlet about the joys of angioplasty. (Just kidding about that last part.)

If you’ve got the guts, give Hoss' challenge a try and tell us about it.
