Goo Goo Survives a Blizzard of Oz — Ozzy Osbourne, That Is

Beth Sachan is really good at keeping secrets. As the vice president of sales and marketing for Goo Goo Cluster LLC (as well as an excellent food and drink writer at her blog, Eat. Drink. Smile.), Sachan has been telling me for months that she had some big news she couldn’t share yet. Now the bat is out of the bag, so to speak, because it turns out that the Goo Goo Shop & Dessert Bar at 116 Third Ave. S. was the site of a recent visit from no less a luminary than Ozzy Osbourne, as part of a filming for his A&E show, Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour. Ozzy's daughter Kelly accompanied the boys on this segment of the trip, for what the episode description says is the first time in series history that they have allowed Kelly to plan the itinerary. So they undertake what A&E describes as “some very ‘Kelly’ activities,” like drag-queen brunch (presumably at Suzy Wong’s House of Yum), a visit with iconic fashion designer Manuel, a restyling of Ozzy's wax figure at Madame Tussauds, tours of a record-pressing factory, and of course, some time in the confectionary kitchen at the Goo Goo Shop.

Sachan says the whole family was very sweet (pun probably not intended) during their visit and that everybody had a whole lot of fun. The folks at Goo Goo have allowed some celebrities to make their own Premium Goo Goo recipes in the past (check out the young Swedish chefs of the Nashville Predators in action), so I’m looking forward to sampling a “Prince of Darkness chocolate” treat sometime soon. If you want to watch the Osbournes' sojourns through Music City, tune in to A&E this Wednesday, July 25, at 8 p.m. Central time.
