Earlier this spring, the Four Walls cocktail lounge at The Joseph in SoBro hosted noted mixologist Chris Hannah and his bar team for a weekend of collaborative drink-making based on an exhibit at the Frist Art Museum, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable evenings of cocktails I’ve experienced in a long time. Subsequently, Hannah’s New Orleans Bar, Jewel of the South, won the James Beard award for Best Bar Program in America for 2024.
The folks at Four Walls are at it again, but this time they’re aiming even higher by going global. London cocktail bar Lyaness was named the World’s Best Bar Spirited Award winner at Tales of the Cocktail 2022, and they’re planning to pop up at Four Walls on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3, from 5 until 10 p.m. They'll collaborate with the local bar team to create cocktails based on the Frist’s current exhibit Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous.

Four Walls’ lead bartender Mickey Stevenson and Lyaness’ head bartender Louis Macpherson will be behind the bar mixing up specialty cocktails inspired by a visit to the museum, and head waiter Lucy Thomas will lead the exemplary service that earned Lyaness its big award. Among the planned cocktails inspired by the exhibition will be Four Walls’ Brixton Veranda, a twist on the British classic cocktail Pimm’s Cup, featuring Pimm’s, dandelion, watermelon, lemongrass, lemon and ginger.
“This is our first time visiting Nashville, and we’re over the moon to be here,” says Macpherson in the official announcement of the weekend collaboration. “Alexander McQueen is an iconic London figure, and we’re grateful to the Four Walls team for allowing us to flex our creative muscles to create cocktails that might honor his legacy.”
The event is for walk-ins only, so no reservations are needed or accepted. Valet parking is available at The Joseph at 401 Korean Veterans Blvd., and rideshare is encouraged, with dropoff at Four Walls’ Fourth Avenue South entrance marked by the bar’s illuminated icon.
