Former NFL QB Eyes Bowling and Curling Restaurant for West Side

Former NFL quarterback Marc Bulger is seemingly planning a restaurant that will offer curling and bowling in his warehouse property located near Charlotte Park on Nashville’s West Side.

Bulger, whose 11-year pro football career was spent primarily with the team that is now the Los Angeles Rams, acquired the 2.49-acre property at 106 Duluth Ave. for $2.2 million in June 2019, according to Metro records. He created Tee Line LLC for that transaction.

Of note, a building permit references “Tee Line” as part of the restaurant (with the “curling” and “bowling” references included also). Curling, an Olympic sport, is played on ice and involves participants sliding round flat stones toward a mark. The tee line is one of the playing surface demarcations. The Scene could not determine if Nashville is home to any businesses that offer curling.

Valued at $103,000, the permit notes Nashville-based Tiny’s Construction will handle some interior demolition inside the warehouse.

Bulger, who operates nonprofit the Marc Bulger Foundation, could not be reached for comment.

Carolyn Akins, owner of Carolyn Akins Real Estate, represented Bulger in the 2019 property deal. She said at the time that Bulger — who finished his NFL career with 122 touchdowns, 93 interceptions and 22,814 passing yards — was not ready to disclose his future plans for the property.

Nashville Fabrication previously operated at the property, having since moved to Ashland City.
