Company Behind BrickTop's to Open Restaurant in Bridgestone Tower

The parent company of classy Midtown restaurant BrickTop’s is eyeing an early 2020 opening for a sister business at the Bridgestone Tower in SoBro.

Nashville-based West End Restaurants tells the Scene the restaurant will not be called BrickTop’s, adding a name has yet to be determined.

The address is 210 Fourth Ave. S. The future restaurant will operate from a large space at the skyscraper’s northeast corner at Demonbreun and Almond streets across from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

West End Restaurants says that although the future restaurant will have a much different decor and feel compared to that of a BrickTop’s, it will feature “all the hallmarks of our BrickTop’s locations: great food, excellent service, comfortable atmosphere and a menu with broad appeal."

The restaurant space will cover approximately 7,000 square feet, the company says. It will feature an outdoor patio and the capability to host private dining events.

The general contractor is Nashville-based Story Construction, with New York-based Meyer Davis Studio handling interior design work.

Terms of the lease with building owner Highwoods Properties are not being disclosed.

West End Restaurants operates eight BrickTop’s restaurants, with one in Cool Springs. Others are located in Alabama, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina. The Midtown location has an address of 3000 West End Ave. and was once home to Houston's, a similar restaurant concept.

An official with Watermark, the upscale restaurant that in 2005 opened in The Gulch, confirmed to our sister publication the Nashville Post in June that the restaurant would not be taking space in Bridgestone Tower as previously planned.

Watermark officials said in October 2016 they would move the restaurant from The Gulch to SoBro by late 2017. In August 2017, a permit valued at $3 million was issued to allow for the interior build-out. Some work was undertaken before being stopped in January 2018. Since then, the space has sat empty.

The Bridgestone Tower rises 460 feet and is the headquarters of Bridgestone Americas.
