TN Whiskey Trail_Carols&Barrels_Santa at Leipers Fork

Santa is checking his list at Leiper's Fork Distillery

There are a lot of holiday-themed cocktail pop-ups in bars around town. I mean, a lot a lot! If you’d like to enjoy a seasonal sip a little closer to the source, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail is again sponsoring a series of holiday activities at some of their member distilleries, including several here in Middle Tennessee.

The Carols & Barrels Trail will run through Jan. 4, and participating distilleries will offer special thematic cocktails along with their usual tastings. Expect festive decorations and fun themes like Corsair’s creepy Nightmare Before Christmas and Peg Leg Porker’s Hickory Holidays in honor of pitmaster Carey Bringle’s unique method of mellowing his whiskey with hickory charcoal.

JD Spirit of the Season

If you want to stay closer to home but still experience some of the magic of a Jack Daniel’s Christmas in the cozy town of Lynchburg, they’re bringing the party to the big city with their first-ever Spirit of the Season pop-up on Dec. 12 and 13 from 8 until 11 p.m. at Willburn Street Studio in East Nashville.

You’ll need to pre-register for the 21-and-up experience and then head to 307 Wilburn St. to check out the amazing high-tech experience they have in store for you. Thanks to cutting-edge projection mapping technology, the room will magically transform into 360-degree visuals that transport you to Lynchburg, including snow-dusted barrel houses, the glow of Cave Spring Hollow where the distillery sources its water and holiday-inspired interpretations of Jack Daniel’s craftsmanship.

Guests will also sample signature holiday cocktails, fun seasonal photo opportunities and the chance to learn about Jack Daniel’s history. The event is free and open to the public, but don’t forget to pre-register to make sure they have a spot for you!
