Burger Week Is Coming Back!
Burger Week Is Coming Back!

If you’ve been craving a great burger, and I imagine many of you (us) have been, you’re in luck because Burger Week is coming back here at the Scene! And unlike so many other things lately in Coronaville, it’s not a virtual event — you can actually leave your house to participate.

This year, Burger Week — presented by Beefitarian — will run July 13-19, and for year six, we’ve got some fun new restaurants participating along with old favorites. In case you don’t know the drill, all you have to do is dine out at any of these restaurants and order their special Burger Week offering to pick your favorite. If you’ve been following along with the news or gone grocery shopping lately, then you know the price of beef has been soaring, so we’ve allowed the participating restaurants to “beef up” their prices for these premium patties to $7 this year. It’s still a bargain!

Among the restaurants competing for best burger are: Chago’s Cantina, Double Dogs, Drake’s, Germantown Pub, Jack Brown’s, Phat Bites, Makeready, Slider House and others. The list is still growing, so keep an eye on the official Burger Week website for updates. They’ll also be posting the particulars of each competing burger as the week grows nearer so you can use that info to help plot your plan of attack. That website is also where you’ll vote for the ultimate winner once the week officially gets underway.

Once you’ve sampled some of these burgers, you can enter the official 2020 Burger Week Photo Contest. It’s simple to get in the game. Just snap a photo of your favorite burger, post it on Instagram and/or Twitter, check in or tag the participating Burger Week restaurant in your post, and tag us @nashvillescene and use #SceneBurgerWeek20. Feel free to share pics of every burger you sample, because each unique post you make counts as an additional entry to the contest, and you can win swag from Beefitarian and restaurant gift cards!

As always, we ask you to be patient with the participating restaurants as they may get slammed with people like you (me) who are hungry to try out their wares. And feel free to order some other items, plus drinks, off the menu, because a lot of these burger deals are loss-leaders. It goes without saying that you should graciously tip your servers, but we’ll say it anyway.

Get ready to put on your eatin’ pants!
