Blackhawks Shooters Silent On and Off the Ice
Blackhawks Shooters Silent On and Off the Ice

If you’re a Chicago Blackhawks fan visiting our fair city for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoff series Monday night, and you’re looking for a spot to pregame for a few hours prior to the late puck drop at 8:30 p.m., may I suggest Dawghouse Saloon on Demonbreun Hill at 1522 Demonbreun St. Not only is this particular establishment within staggering distance (and mostly downhill!) of Bridgestone Arena, but you also might find a friendly — nay, downright welcoming — environment.

You see, before Game 1, Dawghouse’s Instagram proudly displayed a tub full of black and red jello shots in honor of the Blackhawks colors and promised free shots whenever Chicago scored a goal. Sadly, those shooters subsequently went un-shot as Chicago’s professional shooters failed to find the net. So maybe they’ll still be there waiting for you, 'Hawks fans. (The photo has since been removed from Instagram, after Preds fans absolutely torched the bar in the comments field. The Dawghouse general manager did some explaining on Facebook this morning — you see, they host a Blackhawks watch party.)

But if you are a Preds fan looking for an establishment to patronize on game day may I suggest, oh, I don’t know … anywhere else.

Go Preds! Beat the ‘Hawks!

Update, 4:30 p.m.: Some Preds fans left a present on the sidewalk outside of Dawghouse.
