The Band Box Slates a New Series of Pop-Ups at First Tennessee Park

If you’re like me, you get excited about the crack of a wooden baseball bat announcing the official beginning of spring. (Unless you’re a college baseball fan, then you probably prefer the “TING” of aluminum. Which is just wrong.) It’s officially time to play ball at First Tennessee Park in Germantown, as our Nashville Sounds have started play in their first year as the new Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

To celebrate the season, The Band Box in right field has released the roster of this year’s crop of guest chefs who will be popping up to cook a special ballpark-food-item interpretation that will be available for purchase by any fan in the park until supplies run out. This has always been a great series of events, and reason enough to check out a game even if you don’t know a foul ball from a Peking duck. And this year, The Band Box folks have really upped their game with the list of incredible chefs that will be participating.

Thanks to my proclivity for procrastination, you’ve unfortunately already missed out on chef Andy Little of Josephine when he appeared in The Box earlier this month, but don’t worry, he’ll be back later in the season on July 24. But it’s not too late to buy tickets and make plans to enjoy some elevated snack-food fare from local heroes like Pat Martin, Karl Worley, Shane Nasby, Josh Habiger, Trevor Moran, Jessica Benefield, Katie Coss, Levon Wallace and Patrick Davidson and Wesley Adams of Bare Bones Butcher. That list represents a who’s who of great Nashville talent, and all of these should make for some incredible evenings at the ballpark.

Play ball!
