Good news for fans of the recently departed Salt & Vine (sad emoji) — executive chef Rahaf Amer has found a new kitchen in East Nashville's Walden (confetti emoji!).Â
Salt & Vine announced it's closure earlier this month after two years in business — its final day was June 13. At Walden Amer plans to "expand their menu to include a wider range of small plates, while maintaining their ethos of approachable and affordable fare."
For Amer, cooking isn't just about making good food — she also uses her skills to raise awareness of important issues. In May Amer, whose parents are from Syria, took part in the Food From Inside the Travel Ban event. She's also looking forward to be a part of Walden's team, as it's owned by women Robyn Donnelly and Katie MacLachlan.
“Helping to evolve women-owned businesses in the restaurant industry is a big passion of mine,” said Amer via press release. “I’m so excited to join Walden’s female-dominated team and put my own spin on their culinary offerings.”
Walden opened in March in the former Hop Stop location at 2909B Gallatin Pike. Read more here.
