Matt Johnstone’s series continues its mission to expand the horizons of Nashville’s poetry community by hosting one visiting poet with a diverse group of locals each month. This month’s visiting guest is Kristi Maxwell, a Tennessee-born poet currently teaching at the University of Louisville who has published work that plays with the sounds of words you hear in your head as you read them — sure to be fascinating when you hear them through her voice. Joining her are Joshua Moore, who somehow finds time to write deeply personal verses while prepping for grad school and heading up The Porch Writers’ Collective’s poetry book club, and Bill Brown, a longtime educator who tells stories through his poetry to reflect fleeting states of being that can’t be captured any other way. A pop-up collection of vinyl paintings by Zeitgeist gallery director Lain York, a fixture of Nashville’s art scene for nearly two decades, accompanies the show. STEPHEN TRAGESER
