It’s always encouraging to see old guys who can keep up with the ever-shifting trends of rock, but Dinosaur Jr. never really slowed down in the first place. For the members of Dinosaur Jr. and Easy Action, it’s been nearly 40 years of relentless mayhem. Both bands have roots in the early days of U.S. hardcore. (Dinosaur Jr. emerged from Massachusetts hardcore punks Deep Wound, and Easy Action from Negative Approach, Necros and Motor City noise mutants Laughing Hyenas.)
