In the complicated landscape of contemporary American culture, the big challenge is to find and celebrate what unites us as a people in spite of the (sometimes overwhelming) array of differences between individuals. Under these circumstances, the work of singer-songwriters like Darrin Bradbury, artists who have the ability to bring the wonderful strangeness of everyday life into focus, is especially helpful Bradbury’s website promises that a follow-up to his excellent 2016 album Elmwood Park: A Slightly Melodic Audiobook is coming soon, and Monday you’ll have a chance to soak in those stories in person. Two like-minded artists support. On the local tip is Jeremy Ivey, whom you might have seen performing a few years back with Buffalo Clover or more recently with wife Margo Price, and who posted some tunes to Soundcloud in the fall that intelligently draw from Neil Young and The Beatles. Ryan Sobb, who hails from Birmingham, Ala., and has a knack for narrative rock songs that recall acts like the Gin Blossoms, opens. STEPHEN TRAGESER
