If the hustle and bustle of downtown’s Fourth of July celebration isn’t your speed, you can head over to East Nashville for holiday festivities on a smaller scale. Schulman’s Neighborhood Bar will host its Wet Hot American Block Party, appropriately featuring hot dogs and drink specials. A much-needed reprieve from the Tennessee heat can be found with a waterslide and water gun fights. Plus there will be a dunk tank wherein participants can sink Schulman’s bartenders. If you’re (understandably) pessimistic about the state of the country and don’t want to celebrate the Fourth, but still feel like heading to Schulman’s, I recommend my personal favorite menu item: a 40-ounce bottle of Miller High Life.
