There are endless classic movies you can boot up on Christmas and Halloween each year to celebrate. I personally watch Christmas Vacation and Scream, respectively.

Jaws

Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day and New Year’s don’t have quite as deep a lineup, but there are still plenty of options to choose from. But when it comes to the Fourth of July, there’s only one true option: Jaws. With all due respect to Independence Day, Steven Spielberg’s summer blockbuster prototype is the perfect choice for that midsummer vibe. Even though it came out more than 50 years ago, the movie never feels old thanks to its perfect pacing, enduring themes and killer set pieces. Nashville’s favorite indie horror house is sticking to tradition, giving us a chance to set sail with Brody, Hooper and Quint to rewatch one of cinema’s most influential — and flat-out entertaining — adventures.
