Grammy-winning British guitarist Albert Lee brings his 2026 tour to City Winery March 24. A bona fide guitar hero known as “Mr. Telecaster,” Lee was named Best Country Guitarist five times by Guitar Player magazine. His signature finger style and hybrid picking technique have influenced a whole generation of guitarists. “People think I’m a Nashville player, but I’ve never spent more than about 10 days there,” Lee tells the Scene. “I did an album with The Crickets there in 1974, and that was my first trip to Nashville. … There weren’t a lot of players who were playing like me in Nashville, and now everybody does.” In addition to releasing 17 albums under his own name over the past 40 years, Lee has recorded and toured with a number of legendary artists, including Emmylou Harris, the Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Rosanne Cash and Bill Wyman. Lee’s current tour is in support of his most recent album Lay It Down, which he recorded at the renowned Konk Studios in London. Lee will be accompanied at the show by keyboardist J.T. Thomas, bassist David Chamberlain and drummer David Raven. New York roots rockers The Cryers will open the show.
