If you take a dive into Music City rapper and singer Chuck Indigo’s Soundcloud, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a dull moment in five years’ worth of tracks. In that light, his recent album Indigo Café doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, but it still might make your jaw drop. The ingenious narrative framing and inventive R&B-kissed beats help Indigo’s rhymes paint a richly detailed picture. He’s full of the impatience that comes with being a young, talented person trying to figure out how to get along in the world, and he shows how widespread social problems like systemic racism can leak in and turn those feelings into intense anxiety and depression. Contrary to the hook in the track “Introverted,” he has plenty to say. You can hear him in person Saturday at Exit/In, where he’ll be joined by Bryant Taylorr and Jai, two phenomenal singer-songwriters who make it look easy to navigate between R&B and hip-hop. 9 p.m. at Exit/In, 2208 Elliston Place STEPHEN TRAGESER
