Charlie Rich Tribute feat. Charlie Rich Jr., Will Kimbrough, Keith Sykes & more

Cut in Memphis with Ohio-born producer and guitarist Michael Dinallo leading the way, last year’s full-length Feel Like Going Home: The Songs of Charlie Rich concentrates on the material Rich cut for Memphis’ Sun Records and makes a case for him as one of the era’s most soulful rockers. Dinallo recorded Feel Like Going Home at Memphis’ famed Sam Phillips Recording Studio with a core band of musicians that included Nashville guitarist Tim Carroll, and the album sports spare, nuanced arrangements. Carroll and Dinallo’s guitars evoke rockabilly and blues, while Music City stalwarts Will Kimbrough and Jim Lauderdale make themselves at home with Rich’s material. Tonight’s show features Carroll and Dinallo along with drummer Ken Coomer and bassist Bryan Grassmeyer, who will back a crew of singers that includes Kimbrough, Charlie Rich Jr., Keith Sykes and Juliet Simmons Dinallo. Rich’s humane, self-deprecating songs continue to signify today — give the man a listen.
