Catch Street Theatre’s Virtual Performance of Fugitive Songs

Street Theatre Company is back this weekend with a new virtual performance of the intimate song cycle Fugitive Songs. Featuring music by Chris Miller and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (the award-winning team behind Tuck Everlasting and The Burnt Part Boys), this innovative work has been called “a musical journey across America,” blending traditional folk music with contemporary pop and even gospel. The story follows an unlikely collection of people — including “a disgruntled Subway sandwich employee, a jilted ex-cheerleader, a pair of Patty Hearst fanatics and a stoner forced to rob a convenience store against his will” — all running away from something in their lives. Fugitive Songs is directed by Sawyer Wallace, with musical direction by Randy Craft. The cast includes Katie Bruno, Colin Carswell, Aaron Castle, Blake Holliday, Rebecca Keeshin and Jasmine Robertson. Tickets are $10, and you can purchase them via showtix4u.com. 7:30 p.m. June 4-6 via Street Theatre AMY STUMPFL
