Best Locally Made Masks

Photo: Eric England

Using vintage sewing machines, East Nashville’s Rangerstitch team draws delightful words and pictures using thread. Pre-pandemic, their custom-embroidered denim jackets and patches were turning heads. But when face masks also became fashion accessories, it was Rangerstitch’s chain-stitching that let us express ourselves, one custom mask at a time. The hand-designed masks start at $25, though masks with rhinestones and fringe cost a little more, and Rangerstitch charges less for customers suffering from corona-induced underemployment.
