It's not the wide aisles, diverse selection or incredibly knowledgeable staff that makes McKay the best place for secondhand media in the city. It's not even the remarkable finds that even the most casual shopper can discover on a ramble through its expansive Westside location. No, what makes McKay a crate-digger's crave is its mysterious and sometimes confounding pricing system. Usually, there's some kind of logic to the way a store prices its wares. But at McKay, all bets are off—and that's exciting and fun for consumers. I've found treasures on the 19-cent CD shelf, along with classic 12-inch singles that I've snagged for all of a quarter.
