About 45 minutes outside of Nashville rests Pinewood Canoe and Camp. With its rental canoes and kayaks, beachfront and campgrounds on the Piney River, it's a destination for country folk and city folk alike. The kayaking is the real lure into the boondocks, once you realize it consists of about three hours of lying in a boat letting the current do the work while you drink your beer or other cooling beverage.
