Ben and Noel Haggard w/Patrick Sweany & Jaime Wyatt

Not every child of a famous musician inherits their parent’s musical chops, but the Haggard family apparently has some pretty strong musical genes. Ben and Noel Haggard — sons of Merle — will showcase a little of the family magic on Monday at The Basement East, where the duo is slated to play some of their father’s most beloved songs (and, in a late-announced development, they'll bring Merle's longtime band The Strangers with them). Los Angeles-based country newcomer Jamie Wyatt and Ohio-born blues-rocker Patrick Sweany will open the show. Wyatt’s debut Felony Blues has earned her acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone and Noisey, while adopted Nashvillian Sweany counts Dan Auerbach as a frequent collaborator — but he’s got a pretty strong catalog all on his own. Needless to say, you’ll want to get to this show on time. BRITTNEY McKENNA
