Renowned Mayan Hip Hop Group BALAM AJPU will be performing a public concert on Sunday, March 19 at 2:00pm. The group combines Mayan spirituality with art to achieve a fusion between the indigenous worldview and music. "Balam Ajpu" means Jaguar Warrior and represents duality, the opposites that complement each other, masculine and feminine energy.
This concert is free and open to all. Families welcome. The concert will be held at Carpenter's Square, 3016 Nolensville Pike, Nashville. This event is hosted by the Vanderbilt University Center for Latin American Studies, the Global Education Center, Carpenter's Square and the Casa de la Cultura Latino Americana.
